01What we collect
We collect your email address, name, and subscription status to provide the Scanily service. By default, documents you scan are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers.
02Cloud Sync (optional)
Premium users may enable Cloud Sync. When enabled, your document files are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM before being uploaded to our servers — we store encrypted blobs that we cannot read. Document metadata (title, tags, page count) and a short OCR text preview are stored alongside the encrypted file. Sync is opt-in and can be disabled at any time from Settings. Disabling sync does not delete your cloud copies; you can remove them by deleting your account.
03How we use your data
Your data is used solely to authenticate you, manage your subscription, sync your documents across devices (if you enable Cloud Sync), and send documents you explicitly request via the email feature. We do not sell your data to third parties.
04Payment data
Payment processing is handled by Chargily. We do not store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation of successful payment.
05Data retention
Your account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app, which permanently removes all your data including any cloud-synced documents.
